That seems way too complicated. Just stop buying glass french presses and buy a stainless one for good. for the last 5 years. I used it every single day and it's still going strong. It's never going to break and there's nothing on it to wear out. Easy clean up, easy brewing. I assumed you were talking about burning through glass french presses before? I don't see how you could possibly burn through a french press like this, its virtually bullet proof.
