Hands down, Sloggers are my favorite rainy day boot. I can’t abide a heel on any footwear, and Sloggers are flat. I have wide feet and so I buy size 9 when I wear a size 8. Perfect fit. Easy on and off. Cute patterns - my current ones are barn red with chickens 🐓 on them. They will slide on ice! I just slip my YakTrax on them for sure footing in snow & ice. They are not insulated though so if I’m out for a length of time in winter, I have to wear Mukluks and store Sloggers until spring. Made in USA.

What about bamboo long underwear. I love mine - not itchy and cheaper than silk. Boody Wear (organically grown bamboo viscose). Breathable, soft, thermoregulating.

According to the Bible, man was created by God from the dust of the ground. God then planted a garden and placed man in the garden. It makes sense to me that this is where humans would feel most at peace - outside in God’s creation. God did not build a skyscraper and place man inside. The garden is the original perfect habitat for people and animals. Cities and zoos are the aberration. Human beings cannot exist without food grown from gardens and farms. There’s such a deep soul connection, we probably will never understand it completely. The life giving source of the sun is such that even on a molecular invisible level, we experience positive and negative ions in air and water. It’s been shown that even bacteria in soil breathed in can cheer us up! God created a perfect universe - makes total sense that outside in His creation is where we feel most at peace.

I limit my midnight impulse online shopping by removing all money from my bank account except what pays the bills. It takes an extra step to re-deposit cash into bank account in order to shop online. So now that most if my income is cash at home, I am motivated to shop locally and pay cash. It feels good knowing that no one is tracking my expenditures locally, in order to bombard my email with ads to tempt me to shop online. I can buy a chicken and eggs from a local farmer, beads or yarn from a local store, vegetables from a stand, crafts at a farmer at market, and the high tech trackers are not in the loop. This gives me privacy that is lacking when shopping online.

Early colonists wore “linsey-woolsey”.
Linsey-woolsey is a coarse twill or plain-woven fabric woven with a linen warp and a woollen weft. Similar fabrics woven with a cotton warp and woollen weft in Colonial America were also called linsey-woolsey or wincey. These people make this 18th century fabric for re-enactors.

Brilliant idea - if it works! I have an unheated, uninsulated crawlspace-ish area under my bedroom at the north end of the house I rent. The wooden floor feels like ice in an ice skating rink in winter. I wonder if enough heat could be created from composting without the aid of solar energy from the sun, though. Hmmmm. I know how slowly compost decomposes outdoors in winter. So this gives me doubts.

Beans that never make you fart? Without Bean-O? Wow, I have a lot to learn! Actually, I have read some info from Weston Price on the internet. Enough to know I want to learn more. So glad you are getting the word out to people about food as medicine! The challenge is obtaining healthy food such as raw milk without government interference, as in Farmegeddon.
