My girlfriend and I live near Monteagle, Tennessee.
I don't know if you know the Keeners at Sequatchie Cove Farm. I'm helping build a timber frame house there this year and my girlfriend helps with cheese making at their dairy. They do a lot of different stuff at the farm. It's organic and they have a lot of perennials but aren't implenmenting too permaculture principles. They actually have small native plants nursery called Dancing Fern nursery. They're good folks and you should befriend them if you're going to be in the area long term.
I'm interested in permaculture and natural building. If you are doing any building permaculture-ing out at your place then let me know. I'd love to meet up.
Do you live out near Sequatchie Mountain Road? If you do I probably drive past your place often.
Oh and I just thought of another group of people doing cool stuff in the area. I don't know them as well but look up Sequatchie Valley institute. It's also known as "Moonshadow" They have lots of incredible buildings in the woods and have lots of permaculture things going on. They're not too far away either.
