We’ve had so much interest in this year’s 29th annual PDC that for the first time ever, we’ll be offering a second PDC of the summer!

Come stay at CRMPI from August 10th – 21st and attend our expertly instructed Permaculture Design Course! Plans are still in the works for this course, however instructors will include: Jerome Osentowski, Adam Brock, and Avery Ellis.

The bulk design portion of this course will take place at a previously undeveloped local open space, so you can start with a clean slate! We will also be conducting work at Rock Bottom Ranch. Camping will continue to be offered on the beautiful mountainside overlooking the CRMPI greenhouses.

When you join us for CRMPI’s 72-hour Permaculture Design intensive, the internationally-accredited syllabus and certificate are just the beginning of all you’ll receive.

So is the expertise of our brilliant instructors in two full weeks of personal interaction.

So is your gateway into the growing, worldwide network of permaculture designers, educators, entrepreneurs and activists who are creating a new environmental and social vision for the world.

All that is just the beginning…

Sure, we talk about the principles and practices of creating lush, sustainable living systems in climates and bioregions ranging from coastal to arid. We talk about how you can apply these principles in designing and building your garden and home, creating and using renewable energy systems, and co-creating social and economic systems that are healthy for both the planet and its human and nonhuman beings. And we look at ways in which you can create a sustainable livelihood based on these principles….

And that still is only the beginning….

You see, here at CRMPI you don’t just get the vision of what’s possible in a permaculture future.

You live and learn on a campus where permaculture has been practiced for the past 30 years. We are one of the oldest established demonstration sites in the U.S., with new developments continually being added!

So not only are you learning the essential concepts and practices of permaculture from a world renowned team of master teachers who imbue their work with rich depths of life wisdom….

Not only are you gaining the concepts and tools to design and engineer sustainable systems, such as forest gardens, renewable energy systems, water conservation systems, and other eco-technologies….

But you’re putting your learning to use, hands-on, in an environment that’s benefited from decades of comprehensive permaculture practice:

state of the art, passive and active solar greenhouses…
mature indoor and outdoor forest gardens, tropical and Mediterranean…
rain water catchment and greywater systems…
functioning aquaponic systems…
composting toilets…
not to mention small animal husbandry!
You’ll not only be learning the theories…you’ll be learning the skills needed to implement them…and seeing the fertility and abundance that result from decades of applied permaculture.

When you spend just a day touring CRMPI, you walk away understanding the potential of permaculture to restore the land, heal human communities, end hunger – and transform the world.

When you participate in this year’s Permaculture Design Certification program – our 29th annual PDC! – you gain the tools, the hands-on experience, and the long-range vision to make that potential a reality …. whether you’re doing it here in our vigorous and healthy poly-culture systems at 7200′ elevation, or in the Midwestern plains, in the coastal flats, or in desert environments.

And of course, camping in the fresh Rocky Mountain air, and delicious, fresh-harvested, organic food are included!

CRMPI is located just 2.5 miles from downtown Basalt, Colorado.
Tuition is $1,775 and includes meals, camping, and all curriculum materials; a refundable $400 deposit reserves your spot. Note: This course must reach full enrollment in order to take place. We will notify participants in the beginning of August if the course is set to take place. In the event of course cancellation, all deposits and tuition payments will be refunded.

Please send tuition as cash or check to:

But don’t wait to sign up for this rare experience of permaculture in practice! Our PDC courses are always popular and fill up quickly. Call us today at 970-927-4158 or email jerome@crmpi.org. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
We've been doing a lot of video blogging here at CRMPI lately and wondered if any of you wonderful permies have any questions or things you'd like to see demonstrated or explained. We have an expansive forest garden, many hugelkultur beds, a large tropical greenhouse with a climate battery, a mediterranean greenhouse, two other smaller greenhouses, herbal medicine that we grow and sell, animals, a lifetime of failures and success in the permaculture world and much much more! Feel free to post any questions or thoughts you have! Or you could even email us. Our blog is http://crmpiblog.ning.com/ and our website is http://www.crmpi.org/CRMPI/Home.html

Thank you have a great day!
