First time post here and just found out about the Rocket Stoves. I realize that if I were to search and keep reading my questions would be answered, but I'm so excited about what I've found, I can't wait. And if what I already have won't work, I don't want to stay too excited about it, so here goes:
I have a current wood stove setup, though I not now using it. I have a wood stove chimney, about 24 ft tall, brick around flue tile. I goes thru my office and up thur our upstairs bedroom and out the ceiling/roof. The stove pipe enters it about 24 or 30 in from the floor. This is in my living room on a 10' wall to the corner of the room and another 8' available from that corner and under a LR window.
This looks like the perfect setup for a RS to me, fire box and barrel on one wall and a warming bench under the window.
Question is: will I be able to use my current brick flue?? Its here and probably not going anywhere. It would be a major project to remove or madify.
Second Question: We have a home biz next to our house. We make and run custom trim and moulding for high end homes. So we end up with trailers of scrap, kiln dried hardwoods, 1 to 3" thick/wide and with the ability to chop into any length easily. This wood is very clean and we probably generate 6 or 8,000 lbs of it a week, well more than we could use or cut up. Will this make good burning wood for this type of stove or is it too small and too dry??
Also, anyone in Arkansas have a RS installed I might look at??
Thanks,
