Good morning from NZ, first post. Great forum here, a lot of my questions have already been answered but (of course) I have a few left.
The inner liners of water heaters here are made of corrugated copper and since copper melts at almost 2000 deg F, could I use this for the
barrel? It could be polished and left to patina over time and would add to the appearance. The one I have is 30 gallons and plan on building
a 6in model.
I have loads of older red brick available to me a .50-$1.00 each but fire brick can cost $20 each, so the question is can I use red brick if I am
willing to replace them from time to time? How long do you think they would last used 6-7 months a year in a moderate climate?
If the bricks do crumble after time in the tunnel do you need to redo the COB to replace or has someone here found a trick to replace them
through the feed opening?
