We are  a newborn cooperative of growers selling perennial vegetables, nuts and fruit trees and shrubs: food forest productive developing and regenerative species of plants. We are in need of more land to be able to grow and start more things for sale, and plan our season with more predictability and offer a more diverse catalogue. If this works well we will be buying land but in the meantime we are hoping to rent, sharecrop or work trade for a row or three to test the viability of this idea. Donations in kind can include stock, permaculture design and installed self managing food polycultures.

We would like to eventually have space for a greenhouse and windrow to make our own potting soil from compost, carbons and manures, but even just a row or two would help greatly. We need something inside an hour from Halifax metro. Thank you very much.

Please let us know how well it works to cover a cast iron stove in cob! I don't think you'll have problems with pressure build-up, if the exhaust air has somewhere to go (and it sounds like you have a chimney) and if the cob is dry and there isn't water trapped somewhere. If you are adding thermal mass to your house, it will take a longer time to heat up and cool down, whether you have one stove or two. Most rocket stoves are used once a day to heat the house and then let the house hold the heat. What matters is your house insulation and the amount of thermal mass in the house, not the number of stoves.
Hope that helps!
