You put water in the wash-bowl at the top and there's a plug which lets it drain into the bucket for emptying.

Ours is on blocks as we're a bit taller than the average Portuguese.

Garden gnome is optional.

Yes. This is great. What about the pouring? I'm thinking I have really dirty hands from gardening and would love to not have to pick up the bucket/bottle/water-holding device, any simple engineers out there? Like a bucket, with a hole on the side that I can bump with my less-dirty arm, to tip it, pouring water onto my hands. Am I dreaming here folks? Thanks so far everyone!

Living in Swaziland, southern Africa without running water in our house. Yahoo! I had seen an idea before, but can't locate an image now. Looking for a sink that you "load" water into and can empty occasionally. The one I had seen didn't even use a faucet. Something like a jar/old yoghurt/container thang? Any ideas? Links and images welcome. Thanks!

***Edit: I was hoping for a HAND washing station. Although any other type of hand-washing stations are awesome!***

Hi all,
I'm living in southern Africa and hope to soon be joining forces in a VERY rural community, where most homes are 'waddle and dob' structures. When modeling cob-building, permaculture, and homesteading with ZERO financial resources at my neighbor's disposal, what are some suggestions? (the question is broad, but I'm new, so the world is open!)

Thanks
