I had a Cubic Mini Grizzly in an off grid vintage 20 ft trailer one winter... because of my extreme weather patterns, the 3 in stovepipe and the stoves love of compressed wood for burning NOT the free firewood I have available to me at my Off-grid Micro Homestead.  I sold the stove the next summer. I am on a ridge/hill with high winds that also caused back drafts!

I would suggest a different size and style of stove (perhaps a Guide Gear or Winner Well or Russian Bear stove) If you will be okay with the maintenance of a 3 in stovepipe - realize that, depending on your installation and location maintenance could be cleaning it every week to 10 days. Are you okay with that.

I understand the size of the stove maybe important in your space. Please think it over well. Stoves and the stove pipe is expensive.

Also it's worth it to insulate or at least skirt any home on wheels.

I hope this is helpful and not discouraging. I loved how cute the Cubic Mini stove is. Although IMHO cute won't keep me warm no matter how hard I tried! They are best for mild winter's when simply taking a chill off.

Best of success with your stove choice.

You can see it looks windy in the outside picture,  Its always like this,  not terribly windy, but a gentle flow,  that often changes directions.  Is this it???

I WOULD LOVE to know more about your bath set up. We have a cold windy challenging winter for a couple months where I am. I have gravity fed water, which freezes up in the winter...I have an rustic 3 season shower toilet set up that I want to upgrade. I'm allergic to propane so truly want to use wood for heat as well as the water.... (I do not, however, want to highjack this thread - which has helped me tremendously with my backdraft issues up on my hill - perhaps Moosage Me?)

Hello, I live 50 miles from town and 90 miles from a super store...3 hours from an actual city. There are neighbors 5 or more miles away. I'm in a lovely location with extreme weather patterns and wild animals (rodents too) I have 2 working cats and a micro homestead and my transmission went bad so no car! I'm 63. I do this alone.

I've hiked part of the Appalachian Trail, lived in Central America and in indigenous villages before. I know my limits.

I found a call in and online Nomad Chapter.org Morning Meeting that has been wonderful and quick. It's only week days and this combined with my bi weekly phone therapy appointment have been so helpful at this time in our history.
Perhaps there's something similar that could work out for you...

Unfortunately, I have not heard anything about permaculture around here. 😕

Good morning y'all
Lot's of quiet permie stuff going on in Witch Well AZ.   I've been here 10 years on private property - mine off 7231.
We started a Farmer's Market and Swap Meet years ago. It's running on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. It's a place to connect though small. Many people in our area are lower income and hard working.
Just noticed the description of Red Sky Ranch and thought I'd reach out.
Be a good neighbor (and driver on our dirt roads) and you will find good neighbors!

Connie, saw your post this morning.
I bet you are coming to my general area. I've been in Witch Well for 10 years. I have a micro homestead now - until the 2020 mayhem, I simply camped on my property or had old trailers. Now it's officially a micro homestead.
I'm available to chat if you like.

Simply,
Lesa

Interesting.
I have been struggling with some of these ideas as well. Traditional Nutrition, paleo, permie....

Looking forward to more information and discussion
