Hello everyone!
Either in Ianto's book or somebody elses they say "you don't want to smooth the vertical surface of the cob with each lift, because it will prevent good drying". So i i did smooth it with the trowel - it is actually eliminates drastically the cutting - and i like that fact very much
We have very hot weather here and there is the wind at my building site - so everything dries very good, i lift every day 10 cm of cob. BUT! Yesterday i decided to cut out a cap for the window and found out that i have an approximately 2 cm of very dry cob on the sides of the wall and wet cob inside, plus it has a nasty rotten smell!
So, i say to myself, it's normal for cob i guess - it can't dry entirely in several days and it's logical that drying process moves from outside towards inside. But smell!
So i got a little paranoid
What the professionals would say on the matter?
Thank you in advance guys
here what i have built
