Whats the best technique to smooth a hard,lumpy, uneven lawn? Otherwise grass is green, lush and healthy!

Hi there, was wondering if anyone could help me with these brown spots which have developed in my back yard over the last 3-4 weeks? Ideas on what it could be and remedies to fix it...thanks!
