Thanks for the info! I had no idea where to start looking but with your help I was able to figure out that it is probably Rhamnus frangula. It looks very similiar to the alnifolia except that it is over 10 feet tall. It is also considered an invasive species and has definitely lived up to its reputation in my meadow! I will be needing a sturdy chipper!

Hey Permies! I am in the process of purchasing 20 mountainside acres in the Catskills with a 5 acre meadow in the middle. The Meadow is currently overgrown with brush with tiny berries. Can anyone identify it from the pic? Thanks!
