Hi,

I have a paper bag floor and is very happy with it😊
It is as strong as the sealant, I used water dilutable lacquer.  And it have withstood heavy abuse of water and sand in the entrance. I will be more worn some places by the abuse, but never torn. And nothing that a new layer of lacquer wouldn't fix. But it's a lot of work just tearing and crumbling the paper!

And I think you could use all kind of things like fabric, newspapers, magazines...
I used leaves and straws, but hadn't planned ahead to squeeze it all flat before use, so they did noth withstand the use... I think there was some kind of wax on the leaves that maid it hard to glue it in place.

Any suggestions on how to provide pigs and cattle frost free water during winter?

How do Sepp do it? I thing our climate are quite similar to that of Sepps winter.

For now we are using electrical heating to keep the water free from ice, but there must be a better way.

Is it possible to provide open water in something similar to Sepp Holzer animal shelters?

Or what if you got frost free water with a drop, so that you got running water all the time...

Any ideas?

I have an iPod touch and my preference is to use that for internet access . I much prefer sitting on the porch, gazing over my vegetables and browsing the permies forum this way than sitting inside at a desk. On top of that it uses a fraction of the power of a desktop.
