1) The greenhouses are in moderate condition, though they are polyhouses and not glass. They are heated via a natural gas well. I'm not sure about percentages at this stage.

2) Unfortunately it is currently being sprayed with nasty stuff which I would like to discontinue asap.

3) Im not sure if it was formerly used for tobacco but there are many neighboring tobacco farms and it is indeed sandy soil.

4) No idea. A couple hundred feet is my guess.

I have some family land that I'm looking to rent out/ sharecrop/ collaborate/ whatever to the permie with the most brilliant idea. Here are the details: around 400 acres in the banana belt; farm is a former nursery which includes greenhouses, potting sheds, and a house to live in. I'm currently looking to collaborate with like-minded individuals and so if you would like to sharecrop, rent out, homestead please feel free to PM me with your ideas. The land is currently being leased to conventional agriculture and desperately needs some permie intervention and direction. At this stage I'm totally open to all ideas. Experience with bee keeping, herbalism, mead brewing, pine pollen harvesting, hemp growing, mushroom foraging/ cultivating, organic/biodynamic gardening a plus.

My family has had a tree nursery in southern ontario for many years and my dad is nearing wanting to retire or at least slow down and has started renting the land out to local conventional farmers. There's over 400 beautiful acres of amazing Carolinian forest eco-system and I feel to compelled to do something more sustainable, and my dad is open to suggestions.
