From September to June it is possible to join the team at A Quinta in south west Portugal to learn while working on the farm, gaining hands-on experience and building skills for your future. You will be part of the farm community and experience how community life can be enriching as well as challenging.

Do you have a particular interest or skills related to Regenerative Agriculture, Permaculture, Holistic Management, Holistic animal care, water management, eco construction, natural learning, cooking,  or other skills which might be valuable to this project? If what we do inspires you, brings out the best in your creativity and you can’t wait to get your hands stuck into the dirt, you are more than welcome to come and volunteer or apply for the Learnership program.

Come and join us on the farm as a learner or skilled student and you will receive a warm welcome. You will work with us to achieve whatever needs to be done on the farm during that time to get hands on experience in many area's of regenerative farming.
All we ask for is a love for nature and animals, motivation, dedication and a happy soul. In exchange for around 6 hours help a day, we offer 3 meals, accommodation and an amazing learning environment.
There will be one day a week off and we prefer a minimum stay of 4 weeks on mutual agreement, providing we connect well and can work together harmoniously.

Current projects are working on:
- working in the permaculture garden
- creating a food forest and forest garden
- pruning and maintenance work in the fruit orchard
- animal care and holistic management
- waterworks and watermanagement
- building a garden dome
- building a rocket stove and furniture
- restoring a Taipa (rammed earth) building
- murials and cob art

This is a place for people who genuinely want to work and get their hands very dirty and learn.
For more information, check out our website aquinta.org or send us a messsage.

Join us on this 5 day course introducing you to a holistic transformation to deep ecological awareness following the principles and pathways of Permaculture and Deep Ecology.

The course will cover and ask questions about Permaculture and it’s principles, Deep Ecology and its principles, Social and cultural issues, thinking in systems, symbiosis and systems theory. It will introduce Permaculture design process and frameworks, water catchment systems, regenerative agriculture systems, soil biology, plant communities and feedback loops and much much more.

It is also a good way for anyone who is considering or looking for other specialist courses within the same context.

A Whole-istic Transformation to Deep Ecological Awareness, following the Principles and Pathways of Deep Ecology and Permaculture

It is now obvious that our greatest hope for a healthy future will be brought about by a new way of thinking and interacting with both each other and the biological community we are ultimately part of. Using Maieutic style, group participatory learning we will be pursuing an understanding of wholeness and its complexity, leading to a fundamental change in the way we relate to the environment. The conclusion of which results in human unity, an alignment with the natural dynamics of life and an ecological world view.

This course will be a deep, personal transformational change through guided inquiry and group dynamics. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ready to co-design new approaches and become agents of change.
The uniqueness of the course is its recognition that although Permaculture, ecological awareness and our general understanding of the problems we are causing are increasing, the situation both culturally and ecologically are worsening and reaching a critical point. In response, it is apparent that we cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we had when we created them. It is therefore fundamental that the changing of mindsets is key to preventing social and environmental disaster before we embrace philosophies for change such as Permaculture and Deep Ecology.

Personal transformation and the raising of our own awareness and consciousness is critical if we are to have a hope of creating society truly based on regenerative principles.

(also posted in WWOOF / organic farm volunteers/interns/jobs)

Hi there,
Our aim is to turn a gorgeous 130 ha. property with micro climate into an amazing Regenerative Agriculture farm, community and education centre. The farm is located in South Western Portugal with loads of potential.
To help us succeed we are searching for creative inspiring people to fill the following positions:

- Project manager with a permaculture and Regenerative Agriculture background
- Experienced garden manager to create a food garden

These positions are for a minimum stay of 6 months.
This is a completely new fresh project and needs to be started from scratch. Facilities are limited and will start with basic housing and caravans.

We are also in need of helping hands to volunteer at the project.
If you have particular skills with Regenerative Agriculture, permaculture, Holistic Animal Management, Bio construction, aquaculture, gardening, natural learning, cooking, unschooling, or other skills which might be valuable to this project and if a new project like this inspires you, brings out the best in your creativity and you can't wait to get your hands stuck into the dirt, you are more than welcome.

The kind of projects we need help with are:
- Clearing
- Water works
- Tree/plant nursery
- Establishing + maintaining animal systems
- Forest Garden Systems
- Organic Kitchen Garden
- Natural Building
- Rebuild work - there are a number of ruins here which we want to turn into communal space.

We look forward to hearing from you!
