I plan on buying the DVD's and studying them before I build one. I planed on a blow off valve, similar to the ones already installed on a hot water heater. I wonder if 2 coils in a tank would make sense. One for hot water, and one for the closed loop heat circulation to the baseboard heaters. I think it's glycol that is used in those types of systems.

I have an unfinished basement in a 1950's One story home in New Hampshire. I want to build a RMH in the basement, but I don't think it will effectively heat my main level since the basement is unfinished with a dirt floor, and not very well sealed up. I am thinking about doing the stainless steel tank of water, with a coil through it, but instead of running the coil to the hot water supply, I want to run it through baseboard radiators. Is there any reason this would NOT work? Could I get both hot water for showers and radiator water? Any thoughts?
