Yes ,i have been weighing the benefits/disadvantages of different options . i have a shop/garage that I will experiment with ,to get more hands on,and i will be ordering some literature from the site ,probably the dvd set. However,it is currently -25 c outside so it may have to wait a bit,,, Bob

Thanks guys , I will do some further research for sure, I just had the impression that people were going to steel for their burn tubes ,(not the ducting in the mass) and insulating the steel tube ,,,mayhaps I had some out dated info. my plan is to go horizontal exhaust ,with everything outside (similar to those gawd awful boiler systems but much more efficient,,,heck ,a bonfire would be more efficient),and duct warm air into the house ,as I am working with limited space and moronic inspectors/codes, it's a real issue around here, and I'm not the most subtle negotiator,

I haven't found anywhere the thought of using existing 2" walled insulated stainless stove pipe ,Sent--al brand up here in Canada ,6" ID,3' length, 2150 degree rating ,for a hundred bucks, sounds a lot easier than messing around trying to cobble something up.Has anyone tried this ,and if so ,success/failure ? thank you,Bob
