Ok, after a lot more random googling, I have finally figured it out! It is Cunninghamia lanceolata also called a China Fir (although it is not a fir). Native to Asia.
I've looked all over the internet trying to figure out what this tree is but haven't come up with anything. I hope someone can help me. The tree is located in Mississippi and is evergreen.
