I was thinking the bench to spread the heat, the chips R not that bad to work with,or maybe the hot spots thanks for the info

Hi I am casting a 8 in j tube and I have about 20 lbs of copper chips and I was thinking of putting 3in fire clay perlite mix then mix fireclays copper and add that too the outside maybe add perlite to it not sure thanks Thom from Traverse city Michigan
Or add it around the bench pipes I can get all the steal chips I want the copper is harder to get

I think you still need air drying for 24 hr. Then then add more but heat on wet clay makes steam boom
But I have sum copper cuttings and I was thinking of adding them or steel cuttings, nice size chips
