I have dreams of starting a intentional community in MI, with an animal sanctuary and lots of permaculture designs incorporated. I have been looking at land from Detroit to highland, although I will admit it has been slightly discouraging. Are there any areas in particular you guys are interested in? I found the more you go northwest the cheaper land gets, although it is also more redneck and has very little amenity ( internet, organic food, interesting people, ect.). I have a few friends who keep tossing around the idea, but no one is spending anytime looking for property or making plants besides myself. I would love to chat to see what kind of progress you all have made.
