I live in Joshua Tree in the high desert at 2300 feet elevation and I wonder if anyone has any thoughts about orienting a basic Walipini greenhouse. Facing the greenhouse to the south seems like it would get too hot in the summer even with shade cloth. I am thinking maybe facing Southeast although an experienced gardener once suggested facing a greenhouse to the east in this hot dry location. Basically it would get the plants out of the wind like the walipini in La Paz. It hits freezing a couple times here in the winter otherwise it is more about moderating heat and wind.
