All right heres a question, just sorta posting it to open the discussion
and see what everyone thinks.
I have a new site, about a half acre, it is 150' by 112 ' and as it is longer on 2 sides the rectangle is oriented North and south
It is really sort of flat except for a drop off of about 3 feet. So imagine a berm running from east to west right across the middle of the site.
It is really more of a drop off than a berm though.
My Intention right now is to dig the cut off out, shape it, keep it on contour which it mostly is, then backfill it with with old beat up knotty wood that
is just to tuff to make good stacking firewood.
Then it wood be a hugel, with a bit of a swale on the up slope side and roll right into a berm as it heads downhill to the north.
Because of the nature of the site i really cant plant it up in real tall perennials like fruit trees.
So i was thinking about putting asparagus in the swale and strawberries on the berm
Thoughts?
