Thanks for the recommendation Roberta! I'm not sure what the rules are about farming in a wetlands area - I know there are folks around here that do it in places that flood annually. Now whether those are considered wetlands?
I will definitely wright Cecelia & Key's number's down. I really just need somewhere to start! It's crazy going to websites that advertise that they have thousands of agents to choose from!

I just recently noticed mosaic virus in my tomatoes and have been struggling with powdery mildew on my squashes. I was planning on just chop n dropping all of my veggies too this year, but in light of my blight, I don't think it will be a good idea. If you have any diseased plants in your garden, I would throw them in the burn pile. I have heard that even powdery mildew spores can't be trusted to die in the heat of a compost pile that isn't hot enough. I don't turn my pile so I don't even put the mildewy stuff in there.

Thanks Tony, I'll try the ifft app. Still just keeping an eye out at this point. I'd like to do it on my own, I guess I'm just scared that I'm going to overlook something and would like to have an expert on my side:/
It's pretty nerve racking putting it all down on something big like this! I don't want to find a can of worms at the bottom of this rabbit hole!

Hi folks!
Long time follower of Permies, first time poster. I am a Washingtonian living in King county looking now to buy land. It will probably be in Thurston County since the prices there are reasonable and Olympia is right there in the middle. I have been self educating myself in real estate transactions for a few years now and was planning on making the go of it myself, but after two years of looking and researching and coming up empty handed, I figure a real estate agent is what I need to get the ball rolling.
Does anyone here know of any real estate agents in Thurston County or Whatcom county who are knowledgeable about small scale farm land? I'm looking for at least 5 acres (buildable) with a well and power for around 50K, give or take. I was thinking an existing structure would be nice, but I also don't want to pay 10K for a rotten singlewide! I've seen "recently sold" postings on Zillow for similar properties going for that much, so I figure someone's got a head up on those sales!

Also, if anyone has any stories about their experience buying land in Washington; where they found the parcel, any complications they ran into, that would be great! I love hearing about other people's experiences!
