Hello Miles, thanks for the reply! Yes I spoke with them Zoning again today and was told that the permit would be 400 dollars and we had to have some sort of a grease trap type grey water system for the kitchen water...We are gonna use a compost toilet, although he did say the compost toilet had to be UL approved....The land is 4.82 acre and we told him a little over 800 square feet...just was wondering if any others have built an earthbag home in Douglas, Az and if so, any info on how they set up their grey water system and did they have to pay a lot for permits etc!?

Hello, we are building an earthbag home in Douglas, AZ we were wondering if there are others who have built or are building an earthbag home in Cochise County, Az?! And if so did you have any zoning issues or requirements? We were told that the home had to be IRC compliant by planning and zoning, but we have been reading that some areas you don't have to worry about codes, our area is open land and we don't even have an address, there is a green home in the vacinity of our property. Hate to go through red tape if none is really required.
