Hi! I wonder if the OP or others have since experimented with more types of trellis that work well. General question re: trellising vegetables of any vining type. I am still new to hugelbeds - in my second year. This 2nd year, I am looking for ideas on trellising the hugelbeds; and that will withstand seasonal gusts that travel down my driveway, approaching 70kph, or more. My 9yo cut down young aspen to help me build in a primitive fashion. Each successive attempt is more sturdy than the first. I am going home to take pictures & will post them next time I have a connection, for your amusement.

I wish I had found this site earlier! We moved away from the city to northern BC in order to grow, in the permaculture way. Yesterday, the machine & family were at work draining a wet cell nearby the cabin. We rechanneled & cleared a small swamp, and are ready to start building a tall bed or two, as tall as we can make them. The smallish swamp is fed by an aquifer. Our wet cells (several) dry up in the fall. Our thinking was that by growing on wet ground, it would keep the berms moist & thereby reduce the need to deal with water in various other ways.

We felled a ton of spruce & are going to lay those down in the beds.

I am here to ask for any feedback on the swamp location for beds.
