My wife and I are empty nesters now, we went from 2000+ sq. ft. home on 33ac to a 1200 sq. ft. home city, and now 275 sq. ft. on 20ac. So the tiny home life is different. We love it, but would like to add on for overnight company.

Glenn Herbert wrote:I know the typical small rocket stove has an L-shaped flame path, but why do you want to use that style in a larger indoor unit? The J-tube has been found to be more efficient in combustion, it self-feeds as long as the sticks in the feed tube last, and its ergonomics are better adapted to typical American stand-at-the-stove practice. (Cooks in third world countries the rocket stove was developed for tend to squat at the fire to cook.)

What I mean by L shape is the bench part not the stove. Example... start at the NW corner of wall go south the length of a couch and then go east the length of a couch, L shape.

We are going to build a straw bale home and we are going to put a oven in it, can a double chamber oven with proper chimney work (winter use only of course)? Also can one use a L shape rocket mas stove?

Also one like this outside. http://www.livingearthstructures.com/projects/Cobzebo%20in%20Cobtati Can the Double work?

Thanks

Hello all, we live in Dallas county and have 20 acres we are going build a straw bale home http://strawbale.com/store/eco-family-1900/ with some mods,100% off grid, and we will do the... http://www.backtoedenfilm.com/ orchard and garden, we did the garden at our last place and it did GREAT during a drought we had. We got tired of the American nightmare and used the money we got from the last place for the 20 ac. Right now we are renting a house while I take a year off from my trade so i can close my annuity (come on DEC 1) and use the $$ to build debt free. We will have some livestock. Do you have any pointers/recommendations for us??

Thanks
