We need your support and help to keep teaching.  Our lives took a major bad turn a few weeks ago, and we have set up a campaign to help us get going again.

We travel around the country teaching about natural sustainable farming.  We help farmers diversify, expand, and learn a better, healthier way of doing things.  We do this because we love it, because we believe in it, and not for profit.  We charge only enough for the food we eat, and then only till the gardens are producing.
Our first child is one the way (almost 5 months along!!!) and we would love to keep teaching others.  It's what we do.  It's what we believe will help people most.  It's our way of trying to leave the world better than we found it.
We recently lost our home, our gardens, and all of the medicinals that we had stockpiled for sale.  Our natural medicinals and herbals are our main source of income.  All of our income has stopped due to the loss of all of our gardens and medicinals.  It took us months to gather it all, and we have started gathering the medicinals again, but it takes a huge amount of wondering though the forest, following creeks, and camping and hiking to find the specific herbs and mushrooms again.  It will take further weeks to prepare everything for sale.
Times are very tough right now, and we are reaching out to anyone who has it in their hearts to help.

Here is our campaign page:   https://www.gofundme.com/5d6bb5wk

If you can only afford a dollar that's fine, any amount moves us closer to our goal.
Even if you can't donate, you can help us by sharing this.  Tell your friends on facebook, on twitter, on everywhere, send the link to anyone you know.  Send out emails to everyone, we really need your support!
We need your help to keep going, to keep teaching, to keep trying to make the world a little better for everyone in it.

Thank you all so much, we cannot begin express how grateful we are.

Hello, I am placing this ad looking for an farm manager position, or a farming work trade position. We are open to relocating to nearly anywhere in the States.

I have a lifetime (40 years) of farming experience, 20+ years of experience managing and actively running farms, and was born to farming. I grew up learning the right way to handle creatures, understanding their needs and interacting with them in a way that is safe for both me and the animals involved. I have run a 1000 acre farm taking it from in the red to making money consistently as well as transitioning the farm from conventional farming techniques to using a more full circle, minimal chemical use approach.

Because of an injury while starting a horse, and other life events. I have been out of farming for the past few years and I have just recently started looking into finding a new place. I am seeking a long term position that I can devote my time and knowledge to. My wife and I (and our two super friendly giant dogs) enjoy the pace and solitude of country life and she enjoys farm work (especially the babies) almost as much as I do. We are ideally looking for a work trade place that includes housing. Doesn't need to be glamorous housing, cabin or trailer would work fine.

I have raised beef and dairy cattle, meat and dairy goats, horses, pigs, and any number of farm fowl. I spent two years apprenticed to a large animal veterinarian, and treated numerous emergency situations. I am well versed in natural breeding, which is my preferred method of animal reproduction. Throughout my time in charge of the farm I have experienced every form of calving, kidding, and foaling imaginable. I also have extensive experience in foal, calf, and kid handling, assuring that you have animals that you can handle throughout their life time because they have learned to trust and respect you.

Well experienced in operating, maintaining and repairing nearly every piece of farming equipment imaginable from tractors both large and small, bobcats, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, hay cutters (both old sickle bar and new conditioner style), and hay balers (square and round) to chainsaws, mowers, log splitters, pressure washers, trimmers, tillers and much more. I am well versed in all aspects of year round feeding for creatures including silage production, winter grazing crops, pasture maintenance and production, rotational grazing, hay production, and crop production.

I know nearly everything there is to know about growing plants, from intensive gardening, cover cropping, year round greenhouse growing, winter vegetable production using high tunnels or row covers, aquaculture and fish raising, hydroponics, fruit orchards, nut orchards and berries. I am also well educated in soil microbiology and interspecies connections. I focus on improving and expanding the usefulness of the land, and ensuring that it will continue to produce healthy animals and plants in perpetuity.

I am well versed in the organization and leading of numerous employees. I have outstanding time management skills, meticulous record keeping and exceptional financial planning. I cultivate excellent interpersonal skills, and my customer service is secondary only to animal and farm health and well being. In terms of marketing, I have participated in and organized farmers markets from scratch, including gathering the other vendors and creating the marketing to advertise. I have done much more extensive direct marketing to consumers, especially with value added products and capitalizing on holidays (such as Halloween by selling straw bales, corn shucks, gourds and pumpkins). I have started and expanded horse boarding operations, and horse/human communication training, which have often extended into long term riding instruction.

I have a vast array of knowledge and experience relating to all aspects of farming that is especially geared toward stewardship of the land and ensuring that it continues to be productive for generations to come while improving and diversifying as many aspects of the farm as possible.

If you would like to talk more please feel free to give me a call at your convenience at 614-738-2449 Or you can Purple Moosage me here.

Thanks for looking, and have a great day.

Hello Burra, sorry about the lack of info...not really sure of what the response was going to be here.

We are wildcrafters/harvesters, and have been wondering the woods for medicinals for nearly 20 years. We harvest everything ourselves, (no outsourcing to others) because we want to make sure that everything is harvested sustainably, and that we don't deplete or damage the population. We leave the largest and most vigorous to propagate so as to improve the stock.
We harvest wild from the north Maine woods, where the wilderness is still pure and uncontaminated by pollution. Most cultivated mushrooms lack the medicinal potency of wild harvested ones. We air dry all of our mushrooms, and do all the processing ourselves.

I'd be happy to answer any other questions you (or anyone else) may have...sometimes it may take a day or two for us to get back to you, but that's because we've probably wandered off into the woods again.

Have a great day!
