Hi Glenn thanks for the reply, I did download Erica and ernies plans, but a lot of that information goes over my head since I have little referential knowledge. I also have questions about building on my raised plywood platform and near the canvas walls. My yome is 16' diameter, 200 Sq ft! Thanks!

Hi all, I'm getting a yome (think geodesic dome-yurt love-child) that I'm going to use as a living space in a backyard in San Francisco. I'm taking my first PDC course at Merritt College and was thrilled to learn about rocket stoves. I think an RMH is the wisest heating choice for my yome home-- only thing is I have little to no building experience, let alone natural building. At first I thought I could get away with doing it myself with enough research but now that I've done the research I've decided to seek experienced help!

If anyone thinks they can help me or knows someone who can I'd be eager to discuss logistics, compensation, etc. Thanks!

Hi! I'm a new permie and this is my first post. It is fitting that Seth started this thread because he's one of the reasons why I'm interested in going to Hawaii (he was a guest speaker in Chris Shein's class this semester). Hawaii has strangely been popping up a lot in my world lately, and I feel a strong pull there for reasons I can't really explain. I'm very interested in participating in and helping to organize a trip. Hopefully by 2017 I won't be as much of a newbie to permaculture!

I also wanted to share with you a reforestation project called Farm Center (http://farmcenter.org/) on the mainland-- I met the co-founder's brother the other day and it seems like a place worth visiting.
