If a support system is not there then you create it by taking steps. It takes time and maybe a lot of it. I would recommend learning the language in your free time. Put that down as a goal that you work on daily. Start reaching out to neighbors, groups, meetings you are interested in. Also an online presence right here with people of similar desire can be very helpful (although something tangible and concrete are needed). Find other permaculturists, gardeners, herbalists, (healers) etc. in your area. Depending on where you live they may not even view themselves as these it's just there way of life. See about a bartering system. There are people who have strong immune systems and don't mind letting that work for them with natural immunity who could still be interested in community living for free or low room and board. Learn how to be a neighbor and be active in it. Unusually for me, I took a class in neighboring and it was actually very interesting and useful information. But again it may take much time to cultivate that support system, family, community, whatever you are needing. Curiosity and the desire to learn are good tools to have on hand.
