I’m in Ohio and currently growing Sapro Mira potatoes. I got them from Wood Prairy Family Farm. They sell the seed potatoes of Sapro Mira and also similar seed potatoes from the same Sapro family. They are growing beautifully. I’m very excited to see my first harvest.
Here’s their website: https://www.woodprairie.com/

Good Luck!

Helping a local beekeeper would be cool (for a lot of teenagers  I suspect ) and even give him a trade

Another great idea. Thank You, David!
Hi Rita, Sorry your son is having a tough time. I hope you find something for him. In the meantime maybe a job on a farm (any farm that seems productive and treats workers well) would be a good way for him to stay focused and get some experience having working relationships with adults as peers. I think some sensitive souls were never meant to be 16 and the quicker they can adjust to finding their place in the world as an adult the better.

Best wishes,
Isabelle
Thanks Isabelle,

I agree, I think that would be an excellent idea. :)

Thanks David.
We are currently in North East Ohio, but can travel outside of Ohio if need to, no problem.

OUTREACH FOR TEEN

Hi everybody,
My name is Rita and I have a 16 year old son, that I desperately want to get back on the right track before it's too late. Chad is a very sensitive soul, that has spent most of his life being bullied. He is now hanging with cousins that are experimenting with drugs and I'm worried he's going to end up a real mess. I've been trying to find an outreach program that I can afford on my retiree budget, to send him too. Someplace that he can learn about being self-sufficient, living off the land, caring for the earth and how to be part of a community. If anyone reading this could guide me, I would be so very grateful. When Chad was younger we would talk about buying some land and doing aquaponics, and cob home building and so much more, now that he has gotten mixed up with the wrong crowd, we don't have those talks anymore. I just want to see my son, find what life really has to offer, beyond the superficial that he sees right now. Please, if anyone can steer me in the right direction, I would be so grateful. Thank You!
