We had freerange chickens and goats in a very large fenced área. A donkey lived with them and was great protection. Many ranchers put a donkey in their herd of gotas or sheep in Spain.  They are great against foxes, wolves, wild boar and dogs.  

Once you identify the plants growing for free find out which are edible or have medicinal use and voila you have  a "vegetable" garden!  Also promote those that feed the pollinators and protect against plagues.

I stopped buying meat at the supermarket and plan on spending half an hour at the butcher shop. I figure I can sacrifice time to help the planet. Plus I take my own tupper ware containers everywhere - even for meat, not to mention for flour,  grains etc at our local organic store. And a cloth bag for bread.

I only buy calenders where there is room to write notes on each date. The numbers would need to be smaller so there is room to write.

We use old vegetable oil on all our outdoor wood.  It works better than paint or varnish.  The sun here dries  everything thing out in no time.
