Hi everyone.
I recently purchased some ramps from someone who sold them to me in complete chunks of dirt he had dug up from a patch. I put the pots under my tree in my backyard and planned on planting them in a forested place on my family's property. However, before I got to planting them in the forest, the weather became really warm here (about a week of 25-30 degC weather) and the leaves have started to turn brown and die off. Some of the larger plants have sent up a second wave of shoots with big red heads on them, while the smaller ones are just dying back. Is this normal? I read that the leaves eventually die off and seed shoots will come up, but I didn't expect it to be this sudden.
Could anyone with some experience let me know if this is normal ramp behaviour? I really want to establish a protected patch of these things and I'd feel terrible if my work schedule lead to them dying a fruitless death in my backyard.
