Hi Max, I live in Northern Alberta, just 2 hour drive from NWT. I'm just starting my garden, turning my lawn into it. We're also hardiness zone 2a, but we're on the 58th parallel.
I also planted one hardy kiwi this spring, it is hardiness zone 3, but I planted it close to the foundation of our house and keeping fingers crossed.
I'm going to buy a zone 1 apple tree (September Ruby) this fall from a nursery that sells online. Apples don't do well here too, but I have high hopes for that one.
