It sounds like you are better off getting rid of the rooster.  Sometimes the place you bought him from will take him back if it was a feed store or similar.  You could also ask around to see if anyone is interested in him.  That's what I did with my rooster and a friend took him for the purpose of butchering him.

Thanks for all your help everyone!  I have one more, what is your opinion; rooster or hen?  This one is about 4 to 5 months old as well.

Thanks!  I really hope you are right.  In my area, we are not allowed to have roosters, only hens.

I just can't tell if this 5 month old chicken is a hen or rooster.  Also, any idea what breed it is?  (see picture attachment)
