Hello everyone,
This is my first post here and the reason I joined was to see if I can find out more about the problems I've been having with installing my first electric fence.
So I got the following electric system:
-Alimentare: 12V
-Consum: 350-500 mA
-Tensiune ieşire: max.10.000V
-Tensiune max. la 500 Ω :4.900V
-Energie stocata: max. 4,8J
-Energie impuls: max.4,3J
-Clasa de protecţie:II
-Grad de protecţie:IP44

And it's powered by a 30W solar panel.
When I was hooking the impulse generator up to the solar panel I get shocked and it was quite potent, which was a good sign (at least about the thing working).

But after I made a circuit around my plot and try to hook it up to the impulse generator, I didn't get any shock through my wire (I could hold it 10cm from the source and didn't feel anything). If I only connected the grounding wire or the hot wire (but NOT both), I could measure a current between the terminals. But when I would connect both hot wire and grounding, I couldn't see any sign of pulse in my fence.

There is a chance that my hot wire is touching my outside steel mesh fence, creating a grounding on it, but I was honestly expecting there to be some small shock or sign of electricity regardless of this.

Unfortunately, I work in a different city from my parent's farm, so I can only go and see again next weekend. That's why I was hoping to find out more here!
