Thanks for the replies.  I already toss bird seeds...but it is for the birds.
Lots of afternoon hot sun, but no watering source.   I love moonvines, but I doubt they could survive.
Maybe I'll just buy pac k s of lots of seeds of things I like and see what happens when tossed.

Throwing seed.  I live in apt in eastern  VA. Behind my patio is a mess of dead limbs and trees, very bare. I'm 65 so not  going to start digging.  If I buy seeds and just toss them into already existing ivy, will the have a chance?  I really just want to cover with a climber to improve the scene. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
