Hello fellow permies!
I'll be in South Korea at the end of the month and plan to stay around one month and half, visiting permaculture projects and volunteering, giving a hand when needed. I've seen these thread related on the same topic:
https://permies.com/t/21386/permies-South-korea. This has been started 4 years ago, though. So I'm wondering if there is anything new in South Korea since then.
Are some of you guys still active on any projects?
A simple search on Google gives not a lot a results. There is the website "workaway" with a couple of places looking for volunteers. I'm currently contacting some of them (one example:
https://www.workaway.info/315143553783-en.html). Although, it seems to be a kind of wwoofing website. I'm not against this idea at all, I've been wwoofer myself quite a few times (France, New Zealand, Thailand and Japan, around 10 times), and will do it again probably. My point is, my past experiences of wwoofing make me think it's not the main - or I could say the best - way to meet other permies. It happened often that hosts use the word "permaculture" in their profiles and barely know what is it exactly.
Few words about me, since I freshly arrived on the forum.
I'm a quite new permie from France, only started last year to be interested in this huge subject, even though sustainability and environments concerns have always been some important questions to me. Last September has been the beginning of a more deep involvement. Having a PDC is fine, but my idea was to learn more, travel and spend time with more experienced people, contribute as my as I can, exchange... which is great! Learning by doing in other words, that's what I'm doing at the moment.
I don't have any land myself, neither an apartment because have been quite nomadic for the past 3 years. So I can't really experiment anything on my own space (yet) and only spend time on other's project. Sometimes that's fine but it happens more and more that I miss not being settled for few months at least.
Another thing is, sometimes, I feel like I could have meet some people more engaged (in permaculture, or some similar holistic approach) if I would be more organized. So, that what I'm doing now!
