What are some thoughts on removing the existing drywall entirely (in an effort to replace insulation as well), and instead of drywall, using metal lath for the lime plaster? I'm working on an existing residential structure (wood frame construction), located in Texas, and I'd like to avoid paper-based products entirely due to mold and pests issues. A large portion of the exterior is brick (with some type of foam sheathing underneath) which will remain in place; other portions are wood composite and vinyl siding which will eventually be replaced, ideally with plaster as well.
