The Santa Cruz Permaculture Guild may soon be housed within the Live Oak Grange in Santa Cruz. You can join the Guild Facebook page for updates; we'll know for sure if we'll be meeting as part of the Grange by mid-December. https://www.facebook.com/groups/santacruzpermacultureguild/

I know I'm pretty late to replying to this, but in case you're still looking for answers: maybe try reaching out to the Santa Cruz Permaculture Guild to see if anyone in the region has ideas for fruit trees that grow well here and wouldn't violate your HOA: https://www.facebook.com/groups/santacruzpermacultureguild/

You could also reach out to Terra Nova Landscaping, a permaculture landscaping business in Santa Cruz; they would probably have some great recommendations: http://www.terranovalandscaping.com/

If you're still looking for a response from folks who live in your region, try connecting with folks in the Santa Cruz Permaculture Guild: https://www.facebook.com/groups/santacruzpermacultureguild/

Hopefully you've connected with folks by now, but if not, I'd recommend connecting with people on the Santa Cruz Permaculture Guild: https://www.facebook.com/groups/santacruzpermacultureguild/

Definitely connect with the Santa Cruz Permaculture Guild! There may be folks interested in helping you out: https://www.facebook.com/groups/santacruzpermacultureguild/

There's also an awesome PDC course through Santa Cruz Permaculture that would connect you with more folks in the region and provide you with more skills/network if that's of interest to you: http://santacruzpermaculture.com/education/permaculture-design-course/

Sounds like an awesome project! Best of luck!

The Santa Cruz Permaculture PDC might be of interest to you:http://santacruzpermaculture.com/education/permaculture-design-course/

It's fairly hands-on with its design projects that work with real clients in the region. The course instructor, David Shaw, knows a lot of folks in the permaculture community, so your network of permies quickly expands by participating in the course. You could also connect with the Santa Cruz Permaculture Guild and see if anyone there has done the Gaia University program or knows of other programs: https://www.facebook.com/groups/santacruzpermacultureguild/

Depending upon where in the Bay Area you are, you might be interested in connecting with folks through the Santa Cruz Permaculture Guild: https://www.facebook.com/groups/santacruzpermacultureguild/?ref=ts&fref=ts

You can also get to know folks and get your PDC through Santa Cruz Permaculture. The course meets one weekend a month for six months; it's a lot of fun, you get hands-on experience, and you become part of a permaculture community that spans the Bay Area. Folks from as far away as the Sierra Foothills and San Luis Obispo participate in the Santa Cruz course: http://santacruzpermaculture.com/education/permaculture-design-course/

There's a new permaculture center in Santa Cruz that was started a couple years ago. It's called Santa Cruz Permaculture, and they offer PDCs, workshops, and are planning on offering other services and classes. Their next PDC starts in April; I highly recommend it! Here's more information: http://santacruzpermaculture.com/education/permaculture-design-course/
