Unfortunately I can't reach into it. The two openings at the top are probably only 2 inches in diameter each.

So I recently got a plastic barrel for a rain barrel but I wasn't paying attention and got one that had previously had fabric softener.  There is still a good bit of residue still in the barrel.  Is there any good way to safely remove this residue from the barrel, i.e., using some sort of solvent? Or is this barrel a lost cause for this purpose?  Thanks!

It is possibly a cracked pipe. Do you happen to have a link to a big box store for the part I would need so I can get an ideal what I need to do?

Since it is the low area I am also working on creating berms and swales to prevent additional run off going in.

So we have a septic field that never seems to get semi dry, even in the hottest driest summer.  I can't afford to replace or connect to city sewer and I don't want to lose all the good nutrients to compost. Currently I compost the grass clippings, but I would prefer to not mow over it. I would also like to make it a more friendly area for birds and bees as well. Is it possible to plant a horizontal reed bed over the current leech field?

I am in southern Indiana, zone 6b
