We are just starting to bring 3.5 acres to production. Its old pasture that was grass/alfalfa mix, its been lightly grazed about four seasons in the last 15 years. Other than that its been mowed and the material left on it. My goal is three one acre plots, one growing garlic for revenue, the other two growing nectar crops to improve the soil and feed my bees.  Rotation the garlic to a new field every year.
The first crop I want to plant is Sainfoin. MY issue is I can not afford /justify the purchase of a seed drill for zero till. I can not find anyone local with a small enough unit to do one acre. I have tried to plant clover with both frost seeding and broadcast seeding both were spectacularly unsuccessful.
I have a 30 hp tractor, bush mower, disc, and rototiller, and a smooth packer and could afford a small investment in the right tooling.
Does anyone have advice for an efficient way to plant one acre plots ?
thanks
