Hey Mike I tried that spray foam on the back basement entrance awhile ago  but the gap wasn't that bad all it really  did was expand about 4 inches out from the wall. When it dried I cut off 3 plus inches to get the siding back in place I find there is still air coming in around it no as bad mind you . If there was some kind of other sealer I could spray over it  I think that might solve the problem for that area. The rest of the house will be the fun part I think. But I will give it a shot when we get a couple of half decent warmer days . Thanks for all the help I will report back after I get it all done which won't be for a week or so according to the forcast   If you think of anything else I would like to hear  about it . Thanks again

Hi again Mike the first pic is the back corner of the house it's a tight fit in that pic no air at that spot . The second and third are the side of the house there is some air coming in there when the wind is on that side. I did go around with a candle and sealed some drafts that I found . My question is   is there anything that you know of that I can spray or slap on with a brush that hardens up when it dries even if I have to do it a few times . I heard quite awhile ago about someone using this stuff on there roof i think it was . It was kind of a rubber compound that can be sprayed or brushed on . But I have no idea what it was called. Thanks again

Hi Mike  first I live in Nova Scotia Canada and it's storming like crazy so I can't get any pics from outside for a day or two. But the furnace room ceiling is open so I got a few pics in that room. The rest of the basement is finished so I can't get pics in that area the rest would have to be from the outside. The floor is insulated with 4 inch blue Styrofoam and some kind of bubble stuff with foil on both sides on top of that . The floor isn't cold at all  the wind seems to be coming in between the foundation and house and seems to be going up the walls and between the upstairs floor and basement ceiling the main floor is always cold especially when it blows . So any work that has to be done would have to be done  from the outside which means the bottom row of siding would have to be removed  in order to do what's got to be done.

Hi I don't know if this is the right place to post or not . Any idea on how to seal a house that is sitting on a new foundation?  . The house use to be on a frost wall now it's on a new foundation and the house has never been so cold . The house is 50 years old but completely done over ! insulation, windows  , doors  , sidings   , everything . It was great until we had it put on the full foundation  now we are going through 2 and a half times the oil  its crazy  . The wind seems to be coming in around where the house is sitting . There is a layer of some kind of foam between the foundation and house . Any ideas on how to solve this problem . Thanks
