muscovy/pekin crosses are frequently used for foie gras and meat, though. I think they're sometimes called moulard. you don't have to eat your son's (or your son), but it might not be a bad idea to breed some more. I'm led to believe that the fertility of the resulting eggs isn't terribly reliable, though.

and you never know: there are many documented examples of parthenogenesis in birds. it's weird, and maybe a little bit creepy, but one of those Toulouse eggs just might hatch.

.

I have another theory and I have pics... I have a male Emden Goose. Kayna West... We lost our May West at the first of the year. But he has apparently bred my chocolate muscovy hen, Jangle.

.

And the first pic is two weeks ago. They were two weeks old. The second d was yesterday.hes with mam Jangle in both but his siblings are in the back of the first pic hatched the same day hours apart. Maybe even minutes. It's Jangles third healthy batch of babies since last spring. 11 the first time . 7 the second in September and her third only a month ago. But it's our first. Muscovy goose cross the shear size of him amazes me compared to how siblings. Im glad to be able to share our new addition. She hatched out 8 this time and I have trained her and all her babys. Now I have two of her babies from Sept setting on about 16 eggs a piece due any day now ok so rambling. Thanks for y'all time and I hope m able to share more of my trained babies from chukars to khaki cambell who are the easiest ducks of all your train if enough time and effort I'd spent with them. I have two East Indie minis and they are amazing they enjoy sitting.g on my lap. And are very loving g in return. Thanks and good luck.

Grace Hinchliffe wrote:Hiiiiiii!!! I have four khaki ducklings that are not tame. How do I tame them? Is there a certain thing they like as a treat? Please reply!!

Hello.we are 'Just a Cluckin' Homestead. Out of Cameron NC. We unfortunately had one of our most tamed ducks. Lucky. He was khaki Campbell and he was our rescue baby. He only has one eye and was our pet. He stayed on the house at night. We brought him and the eggs in every night. We miss him so MUCH. But to answer your question. I have hand raised hundreds of birds in the last two years. I don't consider my babies "Pot Birds".I raise them all tame because they mostly imprint on me from the time they hatch. I have had many fellow bird people tell me the birds I raise mind better than their kids. Lol. But spending lots of time of possible with them and them getting totally secure in your presence. I'm not sure how old your babies are but khaki stakes are the easiest tame of all barn yard ducks. I have all my ducks trained to go up in separate pens each and every night. Sorry rambling. But yes the time spent with them and the nurturing spirit that I'm sure you have will run off on them all. Put one of the stakes if you can sex them and pick him to start the training process with if at least one of the others is a hen they will both mostly follow him as he is already may be the oldest and tiger in the age group even if only by minutes or an hour apart. He will lead they will follow. And its better if you have more than one. What ever they imprint on as chicks or ducklings when they reach maturity they will try to breed with. Even if its you. I have a royal palm turkey that just reach of age and he goes after my wife with a purple passion. But I move mine from one to another twice a day. Morning then bed time. My birds are all spoiled rotten. The RP that likes my wife too much I have to pick him up and put him on his roost every night. Hope this helps and so sorry so long. Love talking bout my babies. Thanks for your time. TeamKelbo
