Ive become very interested in permaculture the last year or so but don't know of anyone else in the Ridgecrest/Inyokern area actively practicing methods on their land. I currently live in an apartment but have access to one acre of lifeless land on a relatives property. Any ideas of what I should try to grow? I want at least one crop I can profit from and the rest could be for fun. I've been thinking of apricot trees, cacti, mesquite, almonds, and maybe even several species of bamboo.
