Thanks Travis. I didn't know about Timothy Hay, that looks perfect.

(Cause I don't have my property right know, I don't know what will already be there. I am just informing myself beforehand.)
Hello everyone,

this is my first post here, so please bare with me if I posted in the wrong category or the question was already answered.

Maybe it is, but I couldn't find it, cause everyone uses straw. But let's say I can't get straw. How could I get my own in a permaculture way?

Of course I know that straw is the leftover of cereal crops such as barley, oats, rice, rye and wheat.

My idea would be:

1. Mowing the gras.
2. Make some beds and let the gras compost there.
3. Sprinkle the seeds after the summer (by turning the gras away and putting it back on).

What do you think?

(I want to use the straw for cob building, is there a preferred crop for that?)

Thank you!
