Thomas, thanks for the reply. Here in South Alabama we tend to drop to 17° like last year for a few day's then warm's up a week or so later to high 70° till the next cold front which includes a lot of rain before that. This year we've experienced a couple cold fronts that froze my pipes then rain, cold, rain ext.. My idea is to incorporate the Hugelkultur Raised beds to a full green house combination (given it's able to be opened fully for warmer days) for winter here being it fluctuates in temp ever year. And it allows me to grow my produce year round for sales ( hints bell pepoers, 🍅 and such double in price due to time of year). It also allows me to control how my plants are watered from over head or drip ( over head allows fungus, disease and other things to destroy my crop).  My idea allows continual application of organic material to be added as needed to further the plants health and growth to insure I'm getting the harvest I need to sell, can, bless others with or whatever I decide to do. My main goal is to supply year round produce that will aid in those who struggle ever day. God bless! Thanks

Thanks for the reply Jim Guinn,
I'm in South Alabama very close to the Gulf. In my last few (10) years I've been slowly studying on different ways to plant, grow & harvest items to substain a family to setting up a small market. Since my wife's passing I was able to owner finance a small 8.375 acre partial where I'm currently establishing my farm. It's been troublesome of course to start from scratch and working 5-7 days full time and the needed time to do the yard/farming. Since then I've pondered on doing raised beds that I was successful doing prier to moving here, learning composting and hands on success there I've been wanting to do them again and stop having to do the traditional tilling and mounding, ( I really hate that approach myself). So seeing this Hudgelkulter page it gave me an idea, ( finally after 2 years of thinking hard on this), combinding Hudgelkulter/raised beds/Green House has really got my attention now. I'm also building or should saw improving a small pond in the bottom of my 6 acre field to support my construction when completed. Trees, lots of field grass, and I've got chickens and rabbit so far. Looking to have goats, cows, and a few more birds and ducks. Love this blog, thanks.

New to permies, love the work that's been applied into this site. I would like some thoughts/ideas on how to combined a Hudgelhulur raised bed & greenhouse in one. My idea is to construct a frame 5' wide, 5' deep and splitting the height from ground level to below ground surface & about 40' long. Using wire across two beds that will also be 2 1/2 apart, making a dome over the two and a roof system to allow sun into the frame and the ability to close up the sides when needed during the winter season, it's off and on cold to hot here in South Al.
Any thoughts would help. Thanks
