Hi!

I'm raising sheep and goats and I really try to understand that one.

My husband found a newborn lamb yesterday morning left my its mother.  We have several pregnant ewes so we called them and could identify the right one because she had a string hanging.
We put both of them in a jug but we had no idea when the baby was born.  The lamb is very active and was chasing us when we found it.. running. However, the ewe is avoiding the lamb.  We watched for a while and we decided to try to hold the lamb so it can suck on.  No success.

We tried to milk the ewe by hand... no milk... no bag, nothing.  It's dry like an old lady

We are bottle feeding the lamb.  It's small, 3 pounds.  Normally they are much bigger.

Does anyone knows what this could be?

The baby is so small I don'T even know how much milk to feed.  This is so weird.
