Hey fellow gardeners,

I have an issue with my tomatoes this year and not sure what it is. I attached a photo. Other plants also have yellow leaves on the lower branches. Is this the dreaded blight? So far the fruit seem to be ok. Any suggestions on how to treat them instead of throwing them away?

Thank you!

Thanks for the answer! I am a bit confused though, this chard is in its first year and I did harvest leaves from it. If this first year chard reseeds, would I not be able to consume the leaves from it?

Annuals are great for seed saving. If you collect seed from the last plants to flower, you will be selecting for slow-bolting.

I would love to keep my garden growing in the fall but I am a bit unsure when to sow. I read that brassicas should be started indoors by mid summer. Could I start them now? Any tips for preparing the garden for fall? I am in zone 6.

Also, Is there a temperature limitation for plants like kale? I do not have a greenhouse but I have an attic which is quite warm, could this affect the growth of kale seedlings?
Summer is finally here in Transylvania and my leafy greens (chard, mustards, salad, lamb’s lettuce) and some carrots have bolted. I was thinking of allowing the plants to re-seed themselves and collect some of the seeds.

But I have been wondering, will there be any genetic issue with the new plants, that will make them predisposed to bolting? What is your experience with this?

Hello community! I just made my first whole plant tincture with whole dandelion using folk method. Out of curiosity I weighed the quantities I used: 50 g of dried herbs, but in order to cover them completely(they were cut) I needed way more alcohol than the 1:5 ratio. Is it possible that I didn’t cut them finely enough? Is there any way I can save the tincture? Perhaps putting it through another maceration after 6 weeks? Did anyone else encounter this issue when using the folk method? What are your tips and tricks?

Hmm, there's a pretty small chance they're cherries, they're in the woods in the place where you don't usually find them. On second thought, 1 and 3 could be Alder.

Thank you!

I don't think there are hickories in Europe. Could the one with the triangle be hornbeam? The bent, stripy one might as well be wild cherry, I thought of that too, looking forward to spring to figure that out

Hello everyone!

I want to learn more about plants and I'm beginning with the trees in the forest near my home in Transylvania, Romania.

Thank you!
