We live in beautiful Port Neville Inlet on 50 acres of mostly forested land, and are interested in finding a like-minded “couple” who would like to share this land with us.  This would be an ideal situation for a family that has had previous experience living off-grid and would like to develop a more long-term stewardship arrangement with a place they can call home.  This opportunity is not for beginners - we live 16 miles by water from the nearest community, and another hour’s drive from our major shopping center, Campbell River.  Interested applicants would need to have their Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) and their own boat, suitable for crossing Johnstone Strait.  The land is wild, and deer, black bear, grizzly, wolf, and cougar are common.  Good wilderness survival skills are essential.  We have ocean frontage and access to hundreds of kilometers of back country logging roads from our site, perfect for foraging, hunting, and fishing.  The land is suitable for gardening, with a southern exposure, and raising livestock is also a possibility.  Applicants would need to have sufficient finances to either build their own cabin or transport a tiny home/trailer to the site.  The homestead has cell phone coverage, and currently our internet is through a cellular hub.  Xplornet or Star Link are possibilities, but would require an investment into a satellite receiver installation.  Having a job where you can work from home is great - I have consulted and written from our home for some years now.

Initial arrangements would involve a short-term lease.  Ultimately, if everything is copacetic, some form of co-ownership could be arranged.  More detailed information about the land and this opportunity can be found at Homesteading Opportunity.
