I was blessed to win this drawing! I’m in zone 9, so my plants have arrived. I’m really impressed with the quality of these bare root plants!! I’ve already gotten my grapes , blackberries Goji berries, a plum, and a peach in the ground. I still have to plant pecans, walnuts, peach, apples, redbud, sumac, false indigo, rose mallow, Blackhawk, and button bush! I can’t wait to watch them grow! If y’all want to place an order, do it soon! This year’s plants are selling out soon! https://foodforestnursery.com/?sld=devora

Looks like good plans!

Thank you! The fiery looking flower is Hawaiian shampoo ginger, Awapuhi. You can squeeze the cone and a gel, similar to aloe, comes out and can be used for washing your body and hair. I need to pick up some edible ginger!

The “purple banana” is the flower that precedes bananas. I’m not sure which banana species it is. Here’s what it looks like now.

I’m in Central Florida in Southern Brooksville north of Tampa, zone 9a/b. My space is 104’x112’. I have a few things planted already, (several banana and plantain, Tithonia, mulberry, clumping bamboo, papaya. I have irrigation almost complete, but I’m hoping I’ll only have to use it to start everything off. I have a LOT of herb, veggie, flower seeds, (medicinal, insectary, nitrogen accumulators...). I think I need to do one section at a time so I don’t totally overwhelm myself. I’m still working on sourcing mulch and biochar. I have plenty of compost from my dairy goats, beef and dairy cows, chickens, ducks, and horse. No partridge, no pear tree. I had a whole food forest worth of fruit trees until they summarily busted through my fencing and ate them. Fencing is better now. Suggestions? Maybe I need to put together a permablitz! Guess I had better get back to it...

I know this is a really old post, but you're in my county, so thank you! are there plants you've found, over the years that you'd add/delete?

Thanks! ~Devo
